chrome corundum brick used for copper smelting
A chrome corundum brick is a corundum refractory product containing Cr2O3. At high temperature, Cr2O3 forms a continuous solid solution with Al2O3, so the high temperature performance of chrome corundum products is better than that of pure corundum products. The application of more chrome corundum products, Cr2O3 content is mostly in the range of 9% to 15%. The main mineral composition is α-Al2O3-Cr2O3 solid solution. The secondary mineral consists of a small amount of composite spinel (or no composite spinel) and a refractory brick with a chromium oxide content of 1% to 30%. There are two kinds of fused cast chrome corundum bricks and sintered chrome corundum bricks. In general, chrome corundum bricks refer to sintered chrome corundum bricks.

Features
1.High refractoriness,usually the refractoriness is above 1700°C. 2.Refractoriness under load about 1500-1550°C because of poor high-temperature intensity. 3.Strong ability to resist basic (alkaline) slag,can not contact with acid refractory material. 4.Thermal shock resistance,so keep the temperature of furnace stabilized. 5.Poor Volume stability at high temperature,must set aside appropriate expansion joint when laying brick. 6.Strong ability of thermal conductivity,sometime need insulating material.
