Cuprous chloride, chemical formula Cu2Cl2 or CuCl. It is white cubic crystal or white powder, hardly soluble in water, soluble in concentrated hydrochloric acid to form chlororubic acid, soluble in ammonia water to form cuprous chloride cuprous chloride, insoluble in ethanol. Used as catalyst, bactericide, mordant, decolorizer; metallurgical industry; for the determination of carbon monoxide and acetylene in gas analysis.
