The Picosecond laser is a laser that the pulse duration ( pulse width ) reaches picosecond level. One picosecond=10-12seconds ( s ) . It has the characteristics of ultra - short pulse,  width , adjustable repetition frequency and high pulse energy . Picosecond laser breaks through the limitation of traditional laser and uses the combination of very short pulse width and high pulse energy to eliminate the possibility of thermal damage .
