     In the 1920s before Tolix chair was designed, metal furniture was particularly susceptible to corrosion, and the emergence of galvanizing technology perfectly solved this problem, leading the way to Xavier Pauchard, the pioneer of French electroplating design. In 1934, a chair named Marais A came out. Its backrest, chair and bracket were made of iron. The exterior was galvanized, durable and easy to clean. Once it was launched, it was well received. Many people used tolix series furniture outdoors. 

     Later, the designer's son improved Marais A, the weight of the chair was reduced, the lines were modified to be more refined, and the name was changed to A56 chair. So Tolix chair finally moved into the room from the outside, becoming a classic with its super decorative and practical.
