The main advantages of polymer PPTC are: the zero-temperature resistance at room temperature can be made very small, high-current products have only a few milliohms, the power consumption on the road is small, can be ignored, and the volume is relatively small. It can be connected in series in the vulnerable circuit for overcurrent protection and temperature fuse. The resistance value changes quickly. PTC can be used as a thermal fuse, so the performance of the thermal fuse and the role of the thermal fuse are reflected in the circuit to a certain extent.     The main advantages of ceramic PTC are that it is easy to manufacture and relatively cheap, but it has large resistance, large volume, and large road loss. It has a range of tens to thousands of ohms, which is suitable for small current overcurrent protection. Negative resistance effect is easy to occur when it is overheated at high temperature. (Resistance value becomes smaller), the protection speed is slow, in the order of hundreds of ms, the heat capacity is large, and the recovery time is long. The application range is relatively narrow. For example, it cannot be applied to fast-protected circuits, automotive wiring harness protection, PCB trace protection, etc. It is mostly used for heating devices, and can be used in some small signal circuits where loss is not considered.
